Leandry Juan is believe to have shot and killed Davion Sumler on the 300 block of South 20th Street on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022 around 1:40 a.m., Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II said.
Leandry was arrested and charged on March 16 with first degree murder. He was also charged with first degree conspiracy to commit murder; second degree unlawful possession of a weapon; second degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose; second degree arson; and second degree conspiracy to commit arson.
He was being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark.
